Bus lines cover almost the entire Okinawa Main Island and are a convenient way to go sightseeing. Buses also run on the outlying islands. Taxis in Okinawa to the mainland than the basic fare is cheap, easily available.

- Minimum metered fare is 500yen until 1.8km, which increases 60yen every 360m.

- The doors are automated. This means that when you hale a taxi, and it comes to a halt, the driver will pull a lever inside the door to open the cab.
