The festival features Okinawa's traditional "eisa" dance, various regions' folk dance parade, and booths, in which many countries' products and culture are introduced. Consequently, by mixing each other's cultures, new and unique performances have developed all over the world. To celebrate the birth and development of diverse dances and culture, two special festivals are held to bring everyone together. The highlight of the festival, Hatagashira, is a sport and tradition of balancing enormous flagpoles with heavy decorations at the top. You will be thrilled to see the beauty of flags waving, and strengh and skills of powerful men balancing the flagpoles.
